Church Repairs….
St. matthews Church - Rugby
The church hall needed a little bit of restoration. Six of the transom’s were cracked, we removed two while we were quoting for the job as they were too dangerous to leave, they were ready to drop out. We replaced some Ashlar and repointed the gaps between the stone and windows.
all saints church - rushden
We were honored to have been chosen to undertake the crucial quinquennial repairs and maintenance at Rushton church. In addition to the stonework repairs and repointing, we also coordinated sub-contractors who were involved in repainting, lead roof repairs and specialist stained glass window repairs. The thoroughness of this maintenance work is set to ensure the preservation of the church until the next quinquennial review in 5 years' time.
Our Lady of the sacred heart - bedworth
We were called by Our Lady of the sacred heart Catholic Church to see if we could supply work and fit three replacement crosses after all three had split and fallen off over the years. The cause of this was iron dowels that had rusted and expanded splitting the crosses and had also split 2 of the very big apex stones. We cross pinned these with resin and repaired them core drilled the old dowel out and replaced them with a 16mm stainless steel threaded dowel and fitted the new crosses back on. Absolutely loved this job!
St. Nicholas Church - Skirbeck
We were asked to supply work and fit a new mullion at Skirbeck St. Nicholas church. The mullion and stained glass window were destroyed during a break in. We were happy to secure this window back up.
Pilton church - northamptonshire
We were called out to Pilton church to move this very old and heavy plaque from behind the organ, and reinstate it where it could be seen in the chancel. While it was off the wall it’s letters were repainted to give it a fresh new look. The wall was lime rendered where the plaque had been, ready for a lime wash.
St.Sebastian Church - Great Gonerby
We were asked to do so some small repairs for St.Sebastian Great Gonerby church. Measured up, took templates, worked and fitted the new stones. We tidied this area up nicely. We even used part of the old stone we had taken out to splice in the top of another. It is always good to save and use as much of the old stone as possible to preserve the churches history.
Barton Seagrave church
A little bit of maintenance and some small repairs, around Barton Seagrave church to bring their quinquennial survey up to date. A lot of lead flashing pointing has been done along with a relocation of a foot spike that was lifting a roll top copin. It’s always a pleasure to work on these old churches.
