Stone Walling…
WILBY HOUSE, WELLINGBOROUGH
A lovely garden wall at Wilby house to utilise the steps . We stripped the old retaining wall, dug the footing and concreted, we built block at the back of the wall up to soil level then stone above and a iron stone front, we incorporated some stone pier caps were laying around. While we were digging we found some old square pipes, we cut them up for drainers and created the capping from old roof tiles. We also relaid some of the steps and repaired where needed, replacing the landing with some new York slabs.
A nice drywall repair using the original stones.
ROTHWELL
WHITE HOUSE - ROTHWELL
We really enjoyed this little job on the White House in Rothwell. From measuring up, making templates, working and fixing this very worn façade. Replacing straight and curved Ashlars, piece repairing the moulded cills, whilst conserving as much of the original stone as possible. Another very happy client.
GEDDINGTON, KETTERING
This nice big boundary wall was completely at the end of its long life. We stripped it down and added some kiln dried oak lintels and an apex stone found in the garden, it is now a nice feature wall of the garden. Our client is very happy with the end result. Now looking for some dragon heads for the niches!
Glendon Hall, Northamptonshire.
Not an uncommon problem, a partially collapsed old stone wall. We carefully dismantled the damaged area, stripped it down and gave it a concrete footing to overcome the effects of subsidence in the unstable ground below. We then completely rebuilt it using all of the original stones and lime mortar.
